Mallorca is an island that will surprise you with its harmonious blend of historic charm, modernity and exciting nature. Mallorca's cultural landscape reflects more than two millennia of Mediterranean history. The capital, Palma, displays this heritage through its magnificent Gothic cathedral, La Seu, whose walls seem to rise straight out of the sea. The Arab Baths in the Old Town are still living witnesses to the island's Moorish period, while the narrow streets of neighbourhoods such as Santa Catalina tell stories of medieval merchants and craftsmen. Romantic Valldemossa, with its famous Carthusian monastery where Chopin composed some of his most remarkable works, preserves the island's authentic character. The centuries-old tradition of pearl making in Manacor and the hand-made glass of Algaida show the excellence of the island's crafts. Enjoy contemporary art galleries such as CCA Andratx and the Es Baluard Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art, Michelin-starred restaurants where you can taste world-class cuisine, or dive into the nightlife of Santa Catalina and Magaluf... Mallorca is a truly different and magnificent Mediterranean experience that you cannot miss!
